On the other hand, Paul is still as bland as can be, and I am even more annoyed with him in this book because Marguerite took his ridiculous destiny talk (and being a mathematician, him using math to 'prove' that destiny exists adds an additional layer of annoyance for me) to heart and basically started preaching it to anyone and everyone willing to listen, which made me roll my eyes so much. And what an exciting ending! I am really looking forward to seeing how Marguerite is going to deal with the situation she was being hypocrite about in both the first and the second book. I also like that there were some consequences for the things that happened in the first book. The brotherly bond between him and Paul shines in this book. On one hand - super fun dimensional hopping, interesting different worlds to explore, great opening and a premise (from my experience of reading Claudia Gray's books so far, it seems to me that she excels in great premises and openings), the audiobook narrator, Tavia Gilbert, is still great and Theo is still the most interesting character by far.

This has more or less the same strengths and weaknesses as the first one. literally everything I want and more in a book this series has and that's why it's made its way to my favorites shelf. The world(s) building is amazing, the characters unforgettable. She covers everything so smoothly it just keeps you turning the pages (or in my case never hitting stop on my phone). But I'm happy to tell you that Ten Thousand Skies Above You held it's on and was just as amazing (if not more so) than the first novel! I don't know how Claudia Gray does it, but she has created this amazing world that should be too complicated for someone to understand (we're talking a gazillion dimensions here), but at no point was I ever confused as to what was going on or felt lost. sometimes I'm afraid to read the second book in a series because I'm usually terrified that there is no way it will be as good as the first one. Well, Tavia Gilbert does such a phenomenal job in this series I completely forget that I'm listening to only one person (or that I'm actually listening to anyone at all- most of the time I'm too completely absorbed in the story).

If you listen to audiobooks like I do, you know that a narrator can either make or a break a book that you listen to. You can argue with me, but you'd be wrong. But still! Just to do a simple recap, I reread (listened) to the first book in this series (you can find my original review here) last week and finished this book today and I was not disappointed! First off, let me just say that Tavia Gilbert is the BEST narrator. I missed out on a ton of good books that year.
